Five years ago, on July 4, 2020, I meet BILLY JOEL again for the 12th time. (the first time was in 1977) This encounter happened in Bayville, Long Island, N.Y. several miles from his estate on Centre Island, N.Y. There he was, sitting on a bench, all by himself. I thought this was strange because he usually has his annual 4th of July barbaque party today, and he should have been home preparing. And, it was also his 5th wedding anniversary with wife Alexis. But this was the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic and as I found out, he canceled the event, as well as, his upcoming concerts. (remember?) Anyway, this was a dream encounter because nobody was around that morning except BILLY JOEL and me! Below are photos, a video, and details about the 45 minute conversation we had.
