Five years ago today, on July 4, 2020, I meet BILLY JOEL again for the 12th time. (the first time was in 1977) This encounter happened in Bayville, New York a couple of miles from his mansion on Centre Island. There he was, sitting on a bench, by himself. I thought this was strange because he usually has his annual 4th of July barbaque party. And, it was also his and wife Alexis's 5th wedding anniversary. But this was the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, and as I found out, he canceled the event, as well as, his upcoming concerts. (remember?) Anyway, this was a dream encounter, because nobody was around that morning except BILLY JOEL and me! Below are photos, a video, and read about the 25 minute conversation we had.
