Billy Joel News.

> Thousands of volunteers, including N.Y. Governor Andrew Cuomo, BILLY JOEL, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, attended the 20th annual Oyster Bay Cleanup event on September 21, 2013 at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay, Long Island, N.Y.

> Christiano's Italian restaurant, often cited as the inspiration for BILLY JOEL's "Scenes From an  Italian Restaurant", had been slated for closing after being bought by the Singh Hospitality Group earlier this year. But that has been put off until sometime next year, while the company is focusing on other projects for the present. This means that the Christiano's crew, menu and BILLY JOEL memorabilia collection will remain as is, at least for now. Billy Joel at 9/11 Memorial Ceremony in New York City !

BILLY JOEL was in the spotlight at the 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York City, today 9/11/13, after he was asked to lead a motorcycle parade to the Ground Zero site. Now we know Billy meet with the N.Y. State Governor, (See August 5, 2013 blog) The Piano Man rode along-side N.Y. State's Governor Andrew Cuomo, reality TV star Paul Teutul, Jr and firefighers and first responders with the FDNY Motorcycle Club from the FDNY Rescue 1 headquarters to the World Trade Site Center for the 12th anniversary commemorations of the 9/11 attacks. BILLY JOEL admits he felt honoured to be part of the annual ceremony at the site, telling the New York Daily News, "They invited me to be in the motorcycle ride. It's an honour. I was at ground zero a few days after 9/11 and it was the worst thing I ever saw in my life. To be asked to do this is very moving".
